Hey everybody, this is my 50th post!!! And it’s Cinco de Mayo! And there’s a baby shower to attend tonight! What a day for celebrating.

My friend Jenn and I put together this diaper cake on Saturday for our dear friend Anna’s baby shower. It’s tonight, and Anna loves everything Pooh. So we scoured Target for Classic Pooh decorations.
Upon mentioning our plan to our husbands, we received nothing short of jeers, and, seriously, they shut down their listening skills only to go on and on with their hypotheses about this mysterious concept… And every other fella we’ve mentioned this to has given us blank or horrific stares in response. So…
Let’s unravel this mystery. Our diaper cake consists of a wine bottle surrounded by teensy newborn diapers (unused, for goodness’ sake!) that have been rolled up and held in place with rubber bands. Jenn and I adorned the 3 tiers of diapers with neatly-folded receiving blankets. We finished it off with ribbon, a small-ish Pooh, and various Pooh paraphernalia. And that, my friends, is a diaper cake! It’s useful, cute, and girly. Not to be confused with an edible diaper pail.

Haha…I think Luke was still confused until he saw it at small group last night, and tried to take off a layer to see what was inside. It’s super cute and I’m sure Anna will love it.

Cute. :p I never made one of them before, but I am pretty sure I didn’t flinch the first time I heard of it, lol.

Very cute and clever. I love the wine bottle in the middle. What every new mother needs!! - and it helps baby sleep too.

Thanks! The wine bottle was actually empty (we used it for structure), but maybe next time we won’t skimp on the good stuff. ;)

This is such a cute idea! I will have to try this for one of the many baby showers I’ll be attending this year!
