This used to hang on Evan’s wall when he was a kid. I really love the whale and turtle. And there’s ric-rac. Nice.

And here’s his layette, the quilt from his bed, and some wooden baby toys. (Mom D., were those wooden toys handmade? If so, who made them?) That sweater is so cute, I wonder if I couldn’t recreate one in my own size…? The quilt needs some mending, then it is destined for Emily’s big girl bed. Hopefully it will be ready when she’s ready–perhaps in a couple of months.

Thanks Bibi and Papa Joe for bringing such sweet memories. I already put the wallhanging in the nursery. Emily loves it. And she misses you guys!

I should have been more specific on the “who made” details.
The bed quilt was made by Grandmother Derrick.
The sweater set was made by Grandmother Williams.
The “noiseless” rattle was made by Dad (alias Papa Joe).
The rattle-y rattle was made by Granddaddy Derrick (it had two or three rattles originally).
So glad we could bring those items and share some time together.
    Love, Mom D.

Thanks and wow. That picture covers a whole gamut of crafty family members. But you’re missing! I’ll have to blog about the garments you made for Evan and the dress you’re making Emily. Love you!

We’re really blessed to have these things. I have no idea if anything of this sort is left from my own childhood. I have a blanket from when I was a baby, and I think that’s it!
