Let the crocheting and knitting begin! I couldn’t resist this pattern by Jaybird Designs (via Craft). It’s another one of those projects that makes you jump-up-and-get-to-it. And hats are great like that. You can almost finish one while watching Singin’ in the Rain. Almost. I find myself a bit obsessed when it gets to the halfway point. I must have a final product before I can rest easy.
Just so you know: I had to decrease more frequently when I got to the fitted part. It was probably the yarn I chose (super-cheap Red Heart, I believe). But I had to repeat *sc in 2 sts, sc2tog* on the dec row. Again, I didn’t bother with checking my gauge, so I have no doubt this was an operator-error type of situation. ;) However, it worked out just fine, and I love love love my new hat! Thanks again, Jaybird!

Yeah, that’s a bummer, but what really gets my goat is when I have to *xp in 9.5% rts, qlf@g0k* on the ubi row, x2. Just ruins my whole day.

I just found your blog and I am so happy did. I love all your projects. You mentioned maybe posting pictures of the owl stuffed. I would love to see finished pictures and know where you found the pattern (if that is possible and you have time to post that). I am so inspired I have to go sew now.

It was great meeting you and your family last night! It’s not everyday that you meet cool new people AND get to add a link to your blogroll! Your babies definitely aren’t crazy… I want to steal them and call them my own! Emily is just about the cutest kid I’ve ever seen in my entire life. No lie.

cute hat! The yarn looks great with your hair. I’ve got some yarn for brooklyntweed.net’s habitat hat, now I just need to find time to wind it up and get started :)
