New to me, anyway. My dear friend, Mindy, is moving and needed to get rid of this hand-me-down. It was me or Goodwill.

So I asked Evan and his friend to pick it up on Sunday. When they brought it home for me, they were both confounded.
Evan: You really wanted this? It’s so ugly!
Craig: At least you can recover it. Is that what you were thinking?
Um…
Evan: Did you know it was this color? You like it?
Um. Yes.
Evan: Oh. Well. At least we have a sleeper sofa now.
Yeah! We really needed a guest bed.

The truth is, I like this weird little loveseat. I like it a lot. If I have to, I’ll put it in the garage and build a space around it just for me. Just so I can enjoy my vintage, pea-colored, velvety seat and be judged if I must.
Welcome home. :)

Those boys are funny. I love the couch. I had Nathan get my brother’s old poop yellow recliner for the nursery. He was disgusted, but I think it has character. :)

Lol @ you Kristena. You are a braver soul than I am! I know you can make it wonderful wherever it goes.

I think it’s awesome. 100% completely awesome.
My husband would be the same way about it, though. He might have even called me from the pickup just to confirm it before bringing it home.

I truly love this couch. It’s beautiful!!
Sometimes I bring weird stuff into this house. My husband turns his nose up initially. After a while he sees sense. :)

That love seat reminds me of one that used to be at Grammie’s house when I was little. I love it!

This is Craig Speaking now. If this couch were mine, I would make a personal area for it just outside my garage, amongst the thorns and weeds next to my broken washing machine in the backyard, and “be judge if I must.”

Ohhhhhhh…I like it so much! The velvet, the color, the lines…sigh…

What? How could you not like this? It’s all velvety and picket-fencey/honey-comby! Heart.

I love it, too. It reminds me of my green Goodwill chair ($10.00). http://www.flickr.com/photos/shouldbeworking/2983501210/in/set-72157607656903423/
I am picturing a blue and white patch quilt hanging over it at some point. :)

i’ve been scouring thrift stores in our area for any kind of seating that is pea green and velvet. and i really need a sleeper sofa. so seeing that you acquired one gives me hope that one day i’ll find my own. it’s fabulous.

I love it.
I have exactly the same type of conversations with my fiance. Most of the time he proclaims that the item in question is hideous only to announce a few weeks later. “You’re right you know, it works perfectly.”
Lovely blog :)
