…but still wardrobe-related.
I know I mentioned leather-working on here a few months ago, but that was it. Just a mention. Here’s proof that I wasn’t just pullin’ your leg. :)
Evan’s grandfather gave me all his leather tools (and leather!) over Christmas. *heart palpitations*
There is absolutely nothing missing from the mix. Cutting tools (I promise I’ll be careful!), embossing tools, paint, stain, wax, rivets, mallets, etc…
I have so many ideas. One that I wanted to try out right away was pendants for necklaces. What do you think? Could it work? These are unfinished. I actually worked on them quite a bit more after I snapped this picture. Anyway, I’d love your feedback! :)

I’ve done leather tooling as well, used to tool the designs on saddles and other gear. Still have the tools and even some leather left. No paints though. Anyhow, for the pendants… I suggest that you glue another piece on to the back side so that when the pendant flips over there is a nice clean side or another design on the back as well. I usually just use a very thin piece of cow leather or some pig skin (I know, it sounds gross but actually is used quite often to line cow leather items). It makes things look more ‘professionally” done.
Isn’t working with leather great?! =-)

Oh, don’t forget to buff the edges as well! =-)

Charming! Leatherwork is something I’ve always admired and never had the opportunity to get into. I especially love the flower. It’s SO sweet!

Awesome! They’re all really cool, but my eye keeps getting drawn towards the brown pendant in the back. Can’t wait to see more!
