So I was making all these clothes. Shirts, actually. And somewhere along the way I got over-confident. I decided to design my own shirt. And that’s where I hit the wall. Over the past week, I’ve come back to this shirt half a dozen times, trying to figure out why it wasn’t working.

(It’s inside-out, in case you’re wondering.)
I’ve been comparing it to actual pattern pieces to try to get the armholes right.
The kinks are mostly worked out, so I’ll show you the finished product as soon as the armholes and hem are finished.
(Unless something disastrous happens.)
Meanwhile, here are some necklaces (hanging on the wall) that I made while think-thinking about the shirt.

Here’s to a new week with fresh inspiration… Happy Monday!

I love the necklaces! And I’m looking forward to seeing your finished shirt. I kinda designed my own shirt this week too (all your shirts inspired me! really and truly, I’m not just saying that). I had to do some really hard think thinking too. I’m working on a second shirt too, only this one I only slightly adapted from a pattern.

You brave, brave person designing your own shirt. I’m relatively new to this whole make-your-own-clothes area, but I’m loving it nonetheless. Soon, I’ll make something I can actually wear outside of the hosue.

Ugh. I hate it when you hit the wall. Good luck and I can’t wait to see how it all turns out. You were smart to take a break, do something else, and then come back to it!

What perfect gathers along the neckline, do you have a trick? The old pull the basting stitches and then sew on top never turns out as even for me.

I’m so loving that fabric! I can’t wait to see the finished product. I stink at sewing clothes, but seeing your creations last week inspired me to buy some more patterns and fabric for that express purpose.
Those crochet necklaces are cute, too!
