Ooops...well, um...hehe...Evan...I was only thinking of the protective qualities a dust cover might have to offer...

AND I know of what I speak - our computer speakers are adorned with white linen covers. ( I will not even mention the hand crocheted trim at the bottom) My husband insists that they impede the sound quality so most of the time they sit about half-mast on the speakers like little droopy sleep hats. But I'll have you know that he has not once complained about the dust on the speakers!

In the meantime, I'm working on a very gender friendly soft burlap slipcover (sans crochet trim) for the sub-woofer in the family room. I'll let you know how my husband...um...responds to it...

Haha... You guys crack me up. I doubt I'll be making a slipcover for the TV this week. But if we ever mount it to the wall, you might see a giant painted canvas covering it...

I saw that comment Vicki. If I come home to a vintage rose print covering my TV, I know who to blame.

Great barkcloth - the colors are so cheery! While I am not a fan of more things on the floor to clean around, I do like a floor swing-arm lamp (is that what you meant?) - just to get better reading light. It gives you more space on the side table for a tea cup or other-delicious-while-you-read-pretentious-books-beverage. (Are you allowed to have drinks in the living room?)

Do not show your husband this reply, but I'd be tempted to make a flat screen slipcover for the non-use hours of the TV. It really would protect it from dust and could actually look good...

I like the lamp-shade. but maybe the buttom part could use more vintage-some look. maybe painting it with a satin fishish block colour?? thats quick. you could use some of your wall colour, if you have left overs.
(dont we always...)
