Jan 30

Today, the clouds are bright, fluffy, and a bit cheerful. They seem to be filtering the sun so it doesn’t melt the beautiful snow too fast.
Thanks for thinking of us through the storm! I’ll be back on Monday with an announcement…
And I’m not pregnant if that’s what you’re thinking. ;)
P.S. I just listed another Keep Calm and Carry On 5 x 7. Happy Saturday!
P.P.S. Those icicles pictured yesterday are now as long as 2.5 ft. Yikes.

I love your little cloud mobile. I had made one of felt but I love the flower pattern! Flowers need rain.

I’m glad the storm is over! I’m looking forward to the announcement–a project I”m guessing (then again, I’m never a good guesser!)

I loved reading about and seeing all of the various manuvers you had to gyrate through to achieve your goals. Now I recall with a sudden rush of excitement how I tried when I was young to sew wearable garments for myself. I was only very mildly sucessful and only if I used what were then called “jiffy” patterns. It was always a misnomer, as I spent endless hours adjusting, just as you have. At any rate, now and then I achieved modest goals and made things I couldn’t find in stores. (It was long before the invention of “petite” clothing departments. Finally I discoverd in my town of Bethesda (which means “Pool of healing waters,”) a small shop that carried only Hawaiian clothing. I was so happy to be able to purchase ready-made garments for the very small in stature adult women. Of course, I generally appeared dressed as for a luau, but that was okay me, as I did actually own and play a ukelele, and did know how to do an acceptable hula, although I am not Hawaiian. Thanks for sharing your sewing adventures. I receive much vicarious pleasure.
