To go make something outta nothing. Or make something outta something else. :) Here are some ideas from the Thimbly Things archives:

1. Romantic Blouse from frumpy nightshirt
2. Girl’s Easter Dress from Mommy’s old shirt
3. Fashionable Skirt from incredibly frumpy thrifted dress (And here’s another one.)
4. Chic Dress from perhaps even more incredibly frumpy thrifted dress
Happy Earth Day! Go redeem something old and ugly!!!

Whilst cleaning out the cabinets to prepare our house to show, I found 7 little cupcake liners in pretty pastel hues. For a moment I thought about tossing them in the trash, then a thought occurred to me. Why not refashion them?
So here’s what I did:
Step One: Fold liners.

Step Two: String ‘em, space ‘em out, knot ‘em, and fluff ‘em.

Step Three: Hang garland.

The garland is so lightweight that you can tape it up with Scotch tape wherever you please. Perfect in a little girl’s room or as a last-minute party decoration. And with the multitude of cupcake papers available, you’re sure to find some that fit your style and color scheme. I used a thin cotton crochet thread and a large needle to string mine. :)

Jacob had a great birthday! He got to play on a fire truck, eat chocolate cake, and play with car- and truck-themed toys. I don’t think it could have been more perfect.
At two years old, Jacob:
- is madly in love with the movie Cars
- is also wild about Toot-toots (Thomas the Tank Engine)
- and recognizes the different trains (”Hi Henry! Hi Gordon! Hi James! Hi Percy! Hi Toot-toot!”)
- asks for “cookies” regularly… which really means anything sweet
- loves “yellow digguhs” or yellow diggers
- will practically put himself down for a nap (thank goodness)
- appears to have rhythm
- is very good at roaring
- and likes when you roar at him
- can say his own name upon request (”I’m Jake-Jake!”)
- can also make requests (”‘boooouuuut… Cars!!!” he says with an air of authority and with his finger raised in the air.)
- is starting to fight back against the powers that be
- but generally is a ball of sunshine
Jacob, I love you! Thanks for being the happy little monster that you are. :)

P.S. This has been happening every now and then:

Which is rather exciting. :)

This week we celebrate Jacob turning 2 and Evan turning 30!!! I’ll have to share more details later, but I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to the handsome fellas in my life! :) Love you guys.
We just put our house back on the market. I don’t think I ever told y’all that it was off the market for a couple months. Selling your house is stinkin’ hard work!

But we’re giving it another go.

Please pray for it to sell fast!
