And here’s a quick idea from my archives. In 2008, I refashioned an Easter dress for Emily.


By removing the overwhelming ruffled collar, the rest of the ruffles seemed kinda great. I added some yellow bias tape along the neckline and then some crocheted flowers off to the side. You could add yo-yos, strips of *tiny* ruffles, fabric flowers, embroidery, or a little applique.

So many squeal-with-delight photo favorites today! The original photo is showing but the finished product is yet another remake well done. I like the idea of the yo-yo’s on the bodice too. Happy Easter!

Oh, I hope that was once a store-bought dress and not a hand-smocked bishop collar! Those look like wrapped bullions roses, one of my favorite embroidery stitches. So delicate and lovely. The after dress is cute too, but nothing compares to handwork at Easter.
