Happening now on Lisbon Sky’s blog.  Check it out here.

Also, take a look at her fabulous jewelry shop.  I’m crazy for this cheery piece:

Isn’t it just perfect for spring? :)

Thanks, Lisbon Sky!  And good luck everyone!

Are two Dala Horse wall hangings.  See more here.

Thanks, everyone for telling me about your sewing machines!  I’m so glad I didn’t make a snap decision at the sewing machine store.  Thanks to you guys, I learned about brands I didn’t even know existed!  Take a look at the comments section here if you’re also overwhelmed by sewing machine choices.   It’s nice to know what other people (like you) are using!

I’m lucky to have a nice community of nice, encouraging people right here at my fingertips.  Thanks for all the kind comments on yesterday’s tutorial!  I so appreciate it.  Hope you all make lots of soft books for the little ones in your lives! :)

Lots of photos in the shop, dear readers.  I updated the images of the photos so you can see what you’re getting.  And I made shop policies.  Yeah for progress!

Evan just helped me finish my very first alphabet poster, which should arrive in 3-5 business days. :)

But I’m so excited that I’m sharing it now.  I ordered an 11 x 14, and if the print turns out well, then I’ll order more for the shop.  Oh, I can’t wait!  Those fundamental bits of the English language bring out the giddy college student in me.

Well…

Maybe the 1st grader with safety scissors.

P.S. Thank you, whoever nominated Thimbly Things for the Okie Blog Awards!  I feel so honored.  Good luck to all the nominees!

Hello!  And welcome to the alphabet. :)  I’m working on some ABC prints for the shop.  Until then, I’ve just listed a couple more photographs:

Budding Branches 4 x 6

Vintage Buttons 4 x 6

Today, the clouds are bright, fluffy, and a bit cheerful.  They seem to be filtering the sun so it doesn’t melt the beautiful snow too fast.

Thanks for thinking of us through the storm!  I’ll be back on Monday with an announcement…

And I’m not pregnant if that’s what you’re thinking. ;)

P.S. I just listed another Keep Calm and Carry On 5 x 7.  Happy Saturday!

P.P.S.  Those icicles pictured yesterday are now as long as 2.5 ft.  Yikes.

Dec 03

My birthday was Tuesday, and I am 29 now.  I think it may be a scarier age than 30.  It’s the end of something: my twenties.  A lot happened in this decade of my life.  I earned my college degree, got married, moved halfway across the US, had babies, started a blog, bought a house, started another blog, put a house on the market (any takers?), and all the while learned a myriad of homemaking skills.  I’ve been busy.  And yet.  And yet I feel compelled to make a list like Jordan Ferney’s 30 Things Before I’m 30.  And then when I turn 30, maybe I can just relax. ;)

I woke up sick on my birthday but felt better by the evening.  So Evan took me to the mall.  Where I felt like a 15 year old all over again.  I even shopped like one, spending most of my time at Forever 21 buying skinny jeans and leggings and then letting Evan put it on his card like we don’t share a bank account.  True story.

[Circa 1984: That’s me on the far right, having a joint birthday party with my sister and cousin.  I must have been turning 3 or 4, and that’s a Strawberry Shortcake strawberry shortcake birthday cake.  Love it.]

By Wednesday, I was feeling well enough to get my craft on.  So I made some pretty little plaques for the shop.

Happy Birthday to me! :)
